I bought this locally from the original owner about 4 months ago. I sent it to Ricky Davis for a tuneup which also included a couple replacement barrels, a changer cleanup, and the installation of a Bill Lawrence 710 pickup on the e9 neck(c6 has original pickup).

I bought it to get my feet wet with a double neck, and then quickly decided I “needed” a newer, lighter, more mechanically advanced guitar. It was a tough decision though, because this sho-bud plays well enough and sounds great. Largely because of the BL, but I learned also that 1973 was the last year they produced them with changers that were made of a certain type of steel that apparently contributes to it’s unique tone. This is according to my recollection of a conversation I had with Ricky, who is a wealth of knowledge on sho-buds, including this one, which was produced during the transition into the LDG era of sho-buds.

Let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to ship to lower 48, which will probably be around 100-150. It’s pretty, ok, really heavy at about 75lbs.

Thanks,
Jesse

Samuel; Congrats, you just made the choice to buy one of the best SOUNDING and PLAYING Sho~bud's ever....I loved this steel when I had it...didn't really want to send it away to Jesse; as soon as I did..ha....but it was his....but now I'm so sorry He's got to let her go...I do the same thing; when I have a steel that can't be what I need; I send it off to someone that can.
Samuel; put that Bud up against any of them other nashville playing steel players and you will BLOW THEM AWAY...PERIOD(well except for Tom Killen; he's playing a Pro-II barrel tuning steel like yours; I set up for him..ha.
Ricky
