As I've been going through an accumulation of "stuff" that I've had for years, I came upon two bars that I purchased years ago and don't remember the brand or where they are from......
The first 2 photos are of the Gary Swallows Shubb Pierce bar......
The other photos are of bars that certainly resemble the GS bar but they have no markings whatsoever whereas the GS bar does.....the mystery bars have what looks like wood uppers but they are either pakkawood or a plastic (the GS is wood).....the upper portion of the mystery bars are screwed into the bottom metal portion......
They look like the GS style but I can't find these anywhere and they are not on the Shubb Pierce site......I really like these bars because they are bullet nose and also, the counter sunk forward screw hole is great for reverse and forward slants, by resting the top of the index finger in it so that it easily pivots......

To backtrack for a minute regarding the nomenclature, the bar in the first two photos is the Shubb GS or GS-1 from Gary Swallows. No Shubb-Pearse (as opposed to “Pierce”) connection - those bars are all metal, no wood handle. I have also owned a GS-1 for many years.
Gary Swallows made custom bars for years which didn’t involve Rick Shubb. I don’t recall actually ever seeing one of the custom jobs in person, but I’m wondering if that’s where the other bars came from. I believe he’s retired now.
Howard, are you on Facebook? If not, I’m friends on there with Gary Swallows. He doesn’t post very often, but I could forward the photos to try to find out if he made those bars.
