Per below cordial email exchange with Tom Spaulding, Tom said it was OK to post the original versions of the Ray Price songs that form the basis of the forthcoming Vince Gill and Paul Franklin CD entitled "Sweet Memories."

"Hi Ron-

Thanks for getting in touch. I have no objection to anyone bringing awareness to Ray Price's music. The album showcases some deeper cuts that folks who only know "Crazy Arms" and "My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You" might enjoy discovering.

As you know, Vince and Paul's motive for doing these records is to keep the memory of the pioneers alive, present their music to newer generations who may not have heard them, and not to attempt to re-create what they did on records. Getting people to check out the song catalogs of Owens, Haggard (with the "Bakersfield" album), Price, etc. is the ultimate goal.

Thanks,

Tom"

Thanks, Ron! Ray Price and the Cherokee Cowboys have an amazing catalog of great songs. Those of us waiting for the complete album to be released now have a handy place to reference all of the originals

It’s usually fine to re-post or link to YouTube videos that are already out there. A record label would likely take issue if someone posted MP3s, but that’s not something we would be involved in.

Vince and Paul sound great, great, great.

I think we'll be hearing their version of "Kissing Your Picture" for decades.

I can't wait to hear more from this album.

Came from Amazon a couple days ago, listening to it now.

It's just like I expected. It will be a great learning tool for me as an early steel player. It's also great music as well.

When Paul released the Bakersfield thing on MMM, I got it immediately and learned every bit of it.

Tom can we expect him to produce some of this as well?
