Trying one again, using a TT 15 and adding a Baby Bloomer, so far so good. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Planet Wave cables, Quilter 202 Toneblock, Telonics 15” speaker.

I don't know what kind of tone you want to hear.
One major thing I found with all Quilter steel amps NO George L's guitar cords, just standard run of the mill cords or you will have too much highs.
My 202 settings are Bass 12 O'clock, Mid and Treble 2 clicks left from 12 O'clock and Voice FullQ.
My GFI has Lawrence 710 pickups and I'm using a Telonics VP. |

Thanks Jack, highs are the issue for sure. My Hilton over the Telonics helps but is not as clean over all, so round and round we go. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Planet Wave cables, Quilter 202 Toneblock, Telonics 15” speaker.

The Freeloader may be what you need? Changing the load of the pickup might cut the highs. I use a Quilter 201 which has a high cut filter control. I have zero problems with my highs. I use a pot pedal and George L chords. I use a Boss 59 Bassman pedal for an EQ. Best combination of gear for tone that I've ever stumbled onto. _________________ 1976 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics 427 pickup, 1975 Birdseye U-12 MSA with Telonics X-12 pickup, Revelation preamp, Carbon Copy Delay and Hall Of Fame Reverb, Crown XLS 1002, 2- 15" Eminence Wheelhouse speakers, ShoBud Pedal, Effects Pedals. 1949 Epiphone D-8. |
