This is a mid-to-late 60's Deluxe 8 Stringmaster in excellent condition.
I've owned four or five of these and this is by far the cleanest one that's come through here. It is cosmetically almost perfect: it's a dark burgundy color, showing only a small paint chip on the bass side.
The metal parts are bright and shiny and show no signs of use. There are no missing parts, blend wheel is fully functional, as are the legs.
I looked under the tuner pan to see if there was a date, but found only a small piece of masking tape with "5" written on it.
In short, this is an exceptionally nice Deluxe which I'd like to trade for a Deluxe 6 in comparable condition.

Ad cancelled. I've decided instead to restring it as a 6, leaving off the two outside strings. I'll never see another one this clean and there's no reason I can think of why this shouldn't work.

Would like to see some photos and would like to be first in line if you decide to sell it. Thanks!

Try E13. Great tuning and you can concentrate on the top six strings until you get used to it.
From low to high: B, D, E, G#, B, C#, E, G#.
