Fascinating!

The resonator looks similar to a drum cymbal.

Old school European cosmetics!

Creepy store name but really interesting guitar. The cover plate seems to be saying to me "you're getting very sleepy."

I would not be surprised if it is a repurposed cymbal. and probably not very responsive,

Probably why they added the neck humbucker at some point. I doubt that's a pickup that would have been available in '53. Awesome binding.

A repurposed cymbal would be a step up from this . . . .

I was once presented with a "maybe-you-can-fix-this" acoustic guitar which had the top removed, and a 12" gold pan - ya, the panning for gold one - mounted inside with what looked like construction adhesive. Whoa! The top hadn't been re-attached, so I never figured out what the final design idea might have been. Even if I had put the warped and twisted thing back together, I doubt that a humbucker would have helped this one. Rolling Eyes

Back to Brad's post . . . that's a very cool looking instrument.

Artsy Italian and kind of cool looking, but my gut tells me if we all could take it for a test drive to hear the actual sound, at the conclusion here would be a lot of “no thanks - I’ll pass.”
