Yes, very good. I tend to trust Sweetwater's views on most things. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

yes well stated, again, as has been stated many times before, over and over again for years !
Wattage equates to clean headroom .
I'm worn out on the guitar forums trying to explain , discuss, over and over , that this is why many players lean towards a Twin Reverb. Those that love thier 5 Watt amps and the over driven tones it produces, will never understand . Those that think the Princeton Reverb or Deluxe Reverb is the answer for all guitar players are either on drugs or need drugs !
They always say " MIC It " Its all you need.
Then I say , MIC what, the tone I don't like ?
Many are familial with Eric Johnson, iconic guitar player. Erics road and studio rig is 4 amps, 2x Twin Reverbs, 1- 50 Watt Marshall and 1- 100 Watt Marshall. The Twins are for his totally clean chords, The 100 watt Marshall is for the in between soloing with drive, the 50 WATT Marshall is his primary LEAD SOLO amp, not the 100.
What? How can that be ?
Oh it be, LOL
If we have the chance to see Eric live, his rig is worth the price of admission. _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Covers all the bases for six-stringers. I don't know if all steel players like the kind of headroom you get with a Session 500 or a Twin-Reverb, but I do! |

How many watts do I actually need?
Five.
But for pure audio nirvana, six is hard to beat. |
