Here's the SECOND Dumberest Question-
Got this 1993-ish Peavey Databass amp.Has everything I could ever ask for power and tone-wise, but it's still pushing 30 years old, and I have the feeling I might be subbing out on bass...Since what I don't know about amps would fill up the Library of Congress, plus part of Google, I gotta ask if lightly-used Peavey solid-state amps routinely need cap jobs and/or other servicing as they get into their (ahem!) "Golden Years". Winking

Depends on who you ask. The general opinion is every 10 years. I have a number of amps that old or older that never had caps and no signs of problems. I have put caps in much newer amps for problems. So my 2 cents is if it's not broke don't fix it. If I was servicing it for any issues then I would recommend replacement of the caps.
