My fellow forumites ....I recently purchased a Tonemaster Twin Reverb and am wondering as what tone settings you use. FYI I am playing a D-10 pushpull. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Mike, I've been all over the place with settings but my recent best V5 T5.5 M3 B4 REV 2.5 using a Derby steel, a Sarno Black box Goodrich passive volume pedal. I will say I was more satisfied with these settings but reverb off and running reverb and delay with a modest EQ out of a Peavey profex II.

You're welcome. If you bought new the speakers need some time to break in. They soften after you play enough.

I learned from experience yesterday that different instruments need different settings. I’m playing through a Tone Master Deluxe, which is fantastic with my ZB. But I was playing a Sierra, and the pickup isn’t as hot or fat-sounding as the ZB. So I was struggling with volume management and it was way too bright. I rolled the treble off from 7 to 5 and raised the gain from just under 4 to 5, and that Sierra started playing real nice. Just needed less treble and more gain to get up into that honky-tonk tonal space I like.

And I also don’t use the amp reverb much, at least not with steel. I use a Caroline Meteore lo-fi reverb pedal and a Caroline Kilobyte delay. They’re a lot more colorful-sounding.

I have a black Box in front and set all tone controls and volume at 5.
Slight adjustments for the room including the power attenuator.
Outboard reverb and effects.
