Just took delivery on my second 12 String Superslide, with the original stand and gig bag. Absolutely stunning looking and sounding. On my other one, I have Reece's extended C6 and I wanted something that would match my E9 neck on my pedal steel so I came up with an extended version of Tom Morrell's tuning:
Bottom to top: E B D E F# G# B C# D# E F# G#. or in intervals: Root 5 b7 root 2 3 5 6 7 root 2 3. No reentrant and nice Dom 7 and Major 7
It complements the Reece tuning nicely and sounds gorgeous.

Looks like a double post there Tony.
Yes made by MSA but they aren't made anymore. I got this used from Jim Palenscar. $1k with original stand and case. These rarely come up for sale with the stand and with the super sustain pickups.
And I'm absolutely in love with it. This is my second one. I have one in Reeces's tuning, but this one is in the extended Morrell E13. I have a low E (70w string) on the bottom and it literally rings like a bell. NO dead spots. No steel I own sounds that clear with that thick a string on the bottom.
I also have fallen in love with the tuning. I spent the day yesterday playing Autumn Leaves and I found this to be a much better tuning for playing Jazz standards then Reece's C6. I'm keeping the Reece tuning for more hawaiian stuff, but this might end up being my goto steel.
After playing pedal steel for a year, with all the equipment: volume pedals, effects, etc, it is liberating to play with no volume pedal or effects: just straight into my Boss Katana. and after playing the chromatic Alkire tuning for years, it is also liberating to have a strummable tuning. I'm absolutely in love. I have played just about every kind of lap steel available over the years and the SuperSlides beat them all. I'm sorry they don't make them anymore. If you ever see one for sale with the SS pickups, buy it. You won't regret it.

| Very cool! By having that D# string, when skipping every other string there is E C# G# E up high. So it is possible to get some beautiful C#min tuning slants in tune, and with a much less extreme angle. |
