Need a set of shorter Emmons PP pedal rods. I need the style that has a 3/16 diameter that reduces down to ~1/8 diameter at the hooked end. I need 8 but will consider whatever you have. I'm looking for ~ 23.5" end to end length.
Thanks

I have a similar problem, but mine has to be longer. I had longer rods for my Zum. When I sold it, I kept the long rods and sold the original standard length rods with the Zum. I then got an Emmons pp and planned on using the long Zum rods on the Emmons. The Zum rods were not turned down to 1/8" on the ends, but they did work on the Emmons, but were a pain in the butt to hook and unhook. I got some longer pedal standoffs for the Emmons rods, so that solved the problem and let me use the standard length Emmons rods. My point is, other guitar rods will probably work, especially if you're not setting up and tearing down a lot. Since you already have standard length rods, why can't you just cut them down to 23.5" and thread the cut off end more to make up for the length you've lost. PSG Parts should be able to make you Emmons rods in any length you want. |

George, I didn't know the larger diameter would fit. I could see how it might be tight and harder to hookup though. |

It isn't too hard to modify the hook ends, it's common on Rains, Derby and others to have to do that. Pretty easy with bench grinder, a dremel will take longer, just work slowly.

Cut off the ones you got and make them shorter and cut some more threads on the ends.

You’ll likely need to shorten the front legs too, which isn’t as easy as you’d expect on clamped pedal rack guitars like PPs.
You’ll have to modify the large tube either by removing the plug insert and cutting of a length or by cutting the threaded end and extending the threads up with a die. |
