Hey Everyone
I have changed strings on my GFI Export with the same gauge same brand.
I have been able to tune all foot pedals except the B pedal
on the 6 string. As I tune the B pedal on string 6 it throws the tuning out on the open 6th string and visa versa.
If I tune the B pedal the open 6 string will be sharp.
If I tune the open 6 string the B pedal will be flat.
Mechanically everything looks fine
The pedalsteel is 2 years old
Any suggestions on how to fix the problem
Thanks

Could be what's called over-tuning. Back the tuning nut right off until there's plenty of slack, retune the open string and try again. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Did you replace a wound string six with a plain or vice versa? Check that first. |

Right Frank,
That would be my first suggestion.
Tremendous pedal travel distance between a plain and wound string on 6th string.
I could never use a wound 6th, even though I like the sound a little better. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. Thanks Frank that fixed the problem. Replaced the 22 wound that came with set with a 22 plain. It tuned up straight away. |
