Hello all,
Been playing with the idea of trying to do some kind of Western Swing project once things start to get back to "normal", whatever that turns out to be.
Not looking to play a bunch and get rich at it, mostly just for fun and to get better at it.
So far I have a great singer, upright bass, and drums leftover from my last band: www.drinkinganddreaming.net
I could probably pull off the steel myself, but I am wanting to focus more on the armpit guitar and am tired of doubling (not to mention bringing double the gear!).
Would be great to find a halfway decent C6 player not too far away, maybe some fiddles. The bass player is plugged into the jazz scene, so he knows a lot of horn players.
Considering the state of the world, we probably wouldn't meet in person for a while, but I figured we could start working on a setlist and arrangements virtually.
This could turn into something or not, who knows? Either way, it could be a fun project to work on while we're all locked down at home.
Thanks,
Joe |
