The question is - which leg? Which knee lever do I give up? Tough choice...

I really appreciate you guys listening! I heard the feed was a little glitchy, so thanks for sticking with it!

Those guys play really well, and they’ve been so kind as I’ve stumbled through playing steel - I’m lucky

You didn't stumble at all, Christopher! Very well done. And I was not expecting to hear some Butterfly, but there it was. Fun. Smile

Thank you, Tucker! That weird mashup of Impressions and Inna Gadda is always a favorite of mine to play

I dunno what to say. You know I'm one of your biggest fans and I absolutely love that you are expressing your jazz background through the pedal steel besides the guitar. I love jazz, but just don't have the education to play it worth a flip.

I think what you are doing is so important to the instrument to help and widen it's appeal.

I enjoyed the program today as I wasn't able to attend the live stream.

Yes, there is a glitch at about 26 minutes that goes for about 6 mins., but you can FF or just let it run past that gap and it'll be back on track.

It was great seeing the instrument in this bona fide jazz context and with such awesome musicians.

I only wish Reece, Buddy, Hal, Julian et al could still be with us to appreciate what this means.

Guys, even if you don't have a jazz bent, you oughta give this a listen and see how the pedal steel can be such a versatile instrument.

To me, of course, besides the pedal steel component, it just a joy to hear some fine jazz.

The Q&A segment was a nice touch and I'm sure educational to many of the listeners.

Jerry

I’m absolutely touched by your kind words! You’ve been a great supporter of my efforts, and I want you to know how much it means to me - so much

The thing that has helped the most, other than Reece, Travis, Buck, Paul, hours and hours of practice, etc, is having these top notch musicians, whom I’ve played with for years on guitar, being willing to play with me as I work my way to competence on this instrument. They have been 100% supportive, and willing to try whatever weird ideas I have when we gig.

I’m also very thankful for a local club owner who owns a place (Jo Bar in Portland) that I’ve played guitar in for years. He heard some of my playing on Facebook and said if I had a band he’d love to put it in the rotation at the club - how often does THAT happen???? Especially for jazz pedal steel....

Thanks, Jerry - you (and my other friends here who listened to this), you absolutely made my day!

I really enjoyed listening and watching - you sounded great and you played with so much taste. I love the intelligence in both your single string playing and in your chords; and I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Great sound, inspiring musicians. I appreciate hearing steel in a jazz setting. Plus, combining the In a Gadda Da Vida bass line with Impressions reminds me of something Zappa would do!

Thanks, Bruce! I just saw this - thank you for watching it!

That Impressions/Inna Godda thing makes me laugh every time - it’s also fun to stretch out on, and these guys are absolute top notch players to do it with!
