Al touched all styles. He is especially revered in Surf Guitar circles for his production on the amazing RCA recordings of The Astronauts, especially the seminal Surfin' With the Astronauts. RIP Al.

Rip Al, I enjoyed his work with Tommy LiPuma on many Michael Franks recordings and many other great recordings.

How sad,When I recorded the B.W.Stevenson record"We be Sailin'Al was our engineer Tommy Lipuma was our producer,It was like going to school everyday,I remember vividly Al explaining stuff to me that came in handy in the future,The nicest guy,Of course I knew next to nothing about him in 1976 but would soon find out what a master he was.Godspeed Al!
