Don’t do this much, but always worth tooting the horn of a great builder, Rance White
My third Lazy River (the other 2 traded off).
Entering the retired end of my 60’s, decided to reduce Weiss stock to a mahogany baritone (Pogreba) and a mahogany standard scale (Lazy River). My ears work better hearing the mahogany balance/midrange. And the LR is sooo balanced. Lovely, resonant, clear note separation.
Due to herd reduction, I will have a Michael Dunn Koa weis from the mid-2000’s to sell soon
And now the long, delightful break in/find her voice period begins.
Mahogany back/top/sides
Maccassar ebony fret board/bridge.
Walnut rosette
Maple/walnut purfling
