Guessing this is Buddy Charleton on steel and maybe Steve Chapman on guitar. Great tone all around and some great Jimmy Capps style playing. Wade Ray soars! |

Greg, that is THE TONE.... Buddy Charleton is/was a steel guitar hero for many of us. What a great example of his artistry!!
What he played on this song was not as complex as many other things Buddy played, but the WAY he played it....was simply outstanding. Thst was a great Sho Bud guitar he was playing, and he drew all the richness possible from that 'Bud.
Thanks for sharing this great clip. (I agree that the lead playing was Steve Chapman style [rather than Leon] and certainly had some Jimmy Capps influence, too.)

No mistaking Buddy C's hands! Or his touch and sound....
That's great; thanks for posting. |

One of the cleanest and purest of studio recordings. Did you notice that with only five instruments there was no emptiness nor dead spots. Friends, if you’ve got it, less is more. |
