I was watching the Wilbur Brothers Show.
They has Jack Green and his band and a young Jenny Seely.
Does anyone out there know who playing steel in Jack's band.He played an Emmon's SD 10 pp. |

What a great show..!! That was Ron Elliot for sure. A D-10 green lacquer Emmons Original. If I remember correctly, Ron had another lacquer Emmons D-10 around that time that was even "green-er" than that one and had wooden necks. I could be wrong. Jack, Jeanie and The Jolly Giants sounded great.
I have an album by Jack and Jeanie called "Two For The Show" and the cover photo was taken on that very set from The Wilburn Brothers Show... same set, same attire. That album has some great playing by Weldon.
Also in that show was an awesome instrumental by Curly and Jimmy Capps of "Anytime." I love that stuff..!! |

I love all these shows! To see Sonny Garrish with Whispering Bill or John Hughey with Conway not to mention all the great Hal Rugg or Curley Chalker moments in the house band.. OMG!! Talk about unabashed inventive playing! Inspirational to say the least!

| With the topic of the Wilburn's tv show I was wondering if anyone knew why the the band changed hands? Buddy and Hal on fiddle and steel on many shows. Jimmy and Curly on other shows. Was this a change in the making or did they switch off, I don't have a timeline of the band's members, but sure would like to know. |
