Does anyone remember the adjustable bell cranks that were advertised in the various steel-guitar (monthly/quarterly) publications? I lost all of my old magazines in Hurricane Laura so I am hoping someone has a picture of them and will send it to me.

The company may have been Linkon..?

Thanks

Hey Marty, Not sure if you're talking about the so-called "Instant-on" cranks, typically used for Emmons p/p. If so I can put you in touch with ol' Clem Schmitt. He's the only guy I could find. Best, Kevin

Blanton guitars had adjustable bell cranks. The linkage to the pull rod rode up or down a vertical screw.

I think the new Sierras have a similar mechanism

Not only is the Blanton infinitely adjustable, you can just reach under the guitar and tune a pedal with your fingers as you sit.

I love this idea and it would make overtightening adjustments so much easier to fix...not to mention saving hours of changing bellcrank positions for many copedent changes Winking

I had this Blanton in my shop for around a week. I fell in love with the bellcranks.
And yes, Ross Shafer has said that he paid homage to this design.

MARTY ## This Blanton Sd 10 I have here at my home ### she belongs too Mike Bourque.
Mike has several Blanton steels.
The Blanton steels are very good steels. Mike might part with one of his Blanton steels.
I have his number if you want to reach out too him.
The Blanton here is very light 25 pounds.
