Hello everybody,
I’ve recently bought my first D10 (a Magnum). I love it.
Although I am having one issue: I am getting some pedal noise through the pickups. For example, I get a crackling/ static sound during the pedals travel.
Moreover, the pickups pick up a little bit of sound from the other neck. For example, if I have the E9 pickup selected, but play the C6 neck, it’ll pick it up (albeit relatively quietly).
Do I have an issue with the pickups (George Ls), the neck selector switch, or both?
Thanks,
Brad |

Your pickups could be microphone.
If you holler by the pickups, do you hear it through your amp?

Hi Erv,
I’ve just turned my amp up very loud and I can perhaps hear a tiny bit of me screaming lol! But it seems too subtle to be causing the problem.
Another thing I noticed is that when I place my finger on the neck selector switch (not to switch it, just touch it very gently), I get a buzz.
Perhaps that means something?
Thanks,
Brad |

You might have a grounding problem.

I think you’re right Erv. I’ve attached a link to a video I took earlier - it better demonstrates the issue I’m having. Does anybody know the best way forward?
Thanks,

Bradley, you definitely have a ground problem after watching your video. Ck the connections and how it's soldered |

First thing I'd try is to reverse the two wires coming from the pick up. _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

Thanks for your help everybody.
The consensus seems to be an issue with how the jack, pickup, or switch is wired. I know a couple of guys that can help with the job now that I know what it is.
Thanks again! |
