I’m new to forum, and only been playing steel pedal for a few years myself. My adoration with the instrument inspired my collaborator to look into getting a steel pedal. Randomly, the church he does all the music programming for gifted him a paritioners donation:
Sho-Bud #7971
He has the receipt in the case (1971). We’re both curious about the instrument, as we believe, based on condition, that he is now only the 2nd owner.

More info and a picture or two will get you more useful info in return. Is it a D10? An S10? The 7xxx numbers were from the Baldwin era, late '60s through ~'71. Earlier D10s were "Crossovers", built on a metal frame with 6 pedals and lever on the back apron to switch their function between the two necks, some of the last D10s in that number series were the first "Professional" models in '70-'71.
EDIT: I see by the serial # that it is this guitar: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=2957247#2957247, it is an early Professional model _________________ All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest - Paul Simon |

Barrett....the instrument is a PEDAL steel guitar. Not STEEL pedal. Or just steel guitar. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |
