I just did some quick tablature for the swing tune "So Rare"... the intro and one time through the form.

I posted a video of the tune on YouTube in 2013.
Here's the Video ---> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1pJUQAYYxc

If you have Band-in-a-Box or similar software, I suggest that you make a backing track... any swing style, about 115 bpm, using the chords shown in the chart below. Playing the tab alone sounds okay, but the backing chords will really bring the arrangement to life, as always!

Here's a pdf (better quality) ---> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ayMfN8y9g9ySJzUTXL3AnWULEEO12Sm2/view?usp=sharing

Thanks Bill. I have vague memories of hearing this song on the radio when I was a youngster. A few years ago I got the sheet music and I was surprised at how well the tune translates to steel.

That's a really nice melody. I just recently saw the Welk band do that in one of the show's re-broadcasts with vocals and the big band.

Very nice tune and good of you to tab it out for us. Thanks.

Hey, thanks Nelson! Glad you like it. The video was recorded back in 2013. Every time I hear it, I wish I had put more effort into the backing track and the mix. I'm learning as I go!

I'm still playing the Emmons S-10 that I bought from you a couple of years ago... still enjoying it. I've played that steel on two YouTube videos so far:

Thanks again Smile

Lovely tone. I've been lusting after a Gibson but I need to save up and get an 8 or 10 string.

Also, I very much appreciate the tab and will study it. I very much enjoy seeing how others interpret chords within the constraints of the lap steel tuning, so thanks for the study material!
