Has anyone actually owned or compared the new Fender Twin Tone Master against the new Blond Fender Twin Tone Master? I am curious as how the blond unit works in conjunction with a steel guitar. I bought the black one. For me it was just OK. Trying to decide if I want to try a blond one.

No worries Dale, blonde's are always more fun. I only have the black one and likewise just ok.

If you already have the original version, you can install the blonde firmware and test the direct outs to see if there is a dramatic change in tone. The only difference between the two other than cosmetics is the speaker used. The direct outs will change to mimic the different speaker with the blonde firmware.

I tried the different firmware on my Deluxe and it wasn't a monumental difference at all. Subtle but not mindbowing.

YMMV
