I was wondering if anyone who owns the steel driver III effects pedal feels that it adds to the overall sound and is worth the price.

Goodrich makes great stuff and the price is in line with similar boutique builders. You are very close to Jim Palanscar's shop. I would head over there and try one out. Jim is a great hang and his shop is fantastic.
