Are there any lap players on here from the New Zealand area? I have a radio interview over there that will feature some of my lap steel songs.

HI Terry there is a couple in NZ in the Auckland area, but I am not familiar with these guys, so can't help you with names... you might want to contact the Brisbane steel guitar club in Aussie - they have several lap steel players as members and I am sure can put you in contact with others in Australia.
I am mostly a pedal steel player so I am not much help sorry.

Thanks guys for the info. Paddy, if you ever listen to the show, I will be on DJ Grant's Galaxy 107 Feb 9, morning drive show. This is about as far away as my music has ever made it I guess.

A search of the members list shows location. I notice a number of Kiwis.

Hi Terry, I was pleased to see from your posts on Facebook that you had this radio interview in New Zealand. Thomas Oliver is one guy (based out of Wellington) who mainly plays Weissenborn and is getting a bit of mainstream attention for our instrument locally.

Hi Paddy, I was living in Auckland and connected with the older crowd of players until Christmas when I moved back to Christchurch - but there's not much activity up there at the moment. Galaxy FM is based in Kawerau, in the Bay of Plenty - but I'm sure I received it here when I was surfing in the car the other day.

They go out on FM waves, internet, and live feed & seem to grab a lot of listeners. I listened today here in the USA. I have been watching & listening to them for a year or more.
