I have a 1965-ish round neck electric Dobro built during the Mosrite era. It's set up for lap style playing with a real nut (not the metal nut riser). The neck has some bow to it, but not too bad, but I really don't know how hard it would be to convert it back to standard guitar(It has an adjustable truss rod.). The pickup works fine, and the guitar is in pretty good shape, except for the kind of finish nicks that you would expect from a 40+ year old guitar. The cone has been replaced with a modern one, and the guitar is really great sounding acoustically. It comes with a hard case, which is in rough shape, with a lot of the faux alligator vinyl peeling off.
I'm asking $600 plus actual shipping cost. I'd also be interested in a partial trade for a square neck guitar that I could convert to a 7 string.

I believe that this is a "Texarkana Electric" model. _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |

I thought that I'd bump this up one time. This is a very early Mosrite Dobro-the serial number is on the peghead. According to Gruhn's Guide To Vintage Guitars; " An estimated 100-150 early examples were made from old parts in Gardena, and these may have a serial number on the end of the peghead." _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |

I should clarify:
As far as a trade goes, I'm looking for a Dobro-style square neck guitar for conversion. So a spider bridge, resonator square neck. Like maybe a modern Regal. _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |

I took the guitar to my luthier today, and he said that the truss rod was non-operational, so this is strictly a lap style guitar. _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |

I might be interested in a mandolin trade. _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |

Sorry Brendan- I had an out of town gig yesterday, and a bunch of stuff to do this morning. I sent a reply a little while ago. Thanks! _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |
