Anyone know or knew Don Mathews from Reno, NV?
He played one weekend with our band about 1974 in Willits California when our guitar player didn't show up.
Don was really amazing on the steel that time and I was behind him on bass just stunned by all the things he could do on that steel.
That was what got me interested in playing steel.
He played a Fender 1000 or maybe it was a 2000?
He moved to Reno in the late 70's or early 80's.
A good friend visited with him there some time later, but lost track.
Just have often wondered how he is doing???
