Take a look at the top left-hand corner. It almost looks like the back of the guitar has somewhat of a split from the top.

I could be wrong but it sounds as if the seller isn't really a steel guitarist:
Casing is well built and holds tune on pedal shifts |

Be a fairly high retail price even IF it'd been professionally gone through and every part spec'd out. There's no indication that was done, so you have no idea what deviltry's lurking under the hood.Whenever I see a NON-steel dealer selling a PSG I gotta wonder how such an expensive instrument found its way into as close to a pawnshop as makes no difference. |

I have been playing Carters since the very beginning. Let me say, no Carter except the 1000th Anniversary Edition had a list price of $5K.
When Carter closed, the list price for a guitar like this was only about $3200.
With what I see on the body of this guitar, I personally would steer clear.
I am not trying to trash this seller, just don't want someone to get burnt. _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. Can't get much sweeter. |

Bill that Carter 1000 now resides in Northern Ireland. Beautiful instrument built with Timeless Timber. |

I notice that the price has been lowered quite a bit, probably as a result of feedback on this ad. Looks like a competitive price to me. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Looks like the wood is either cracked or separating to me. _________________ Pre RP Mullen D10 8/7, Zum 3/4, Carter S-10 3/4, previous Cougar SD-10 3/4 & GFI S-10 3/4, Fender Steel King, 2 Peavey Session 500's, Peavey Nashville 400, Boss DD-3, Profex-II, Hilton Digital Sustain, '88 Les Paul Custom,Epiphone MBIBG J-45, Fender Strat & Tele's, Takamine acoustics, Marshall amps, Boss effects, Ibanez Tube Screamer, and it all started with an old cranky worn out Kay acoustic you could slide a Mack truck between the strings and fretboard on!! |
