Hi all, this may be a very silly question.

I found this thread: https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=120318&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=delivered&start=25 which is fantastic for someone like me who doesn't lower the 4th string (as well for all steel players in the universe due to the input directly from Lloyd Green). My question is about the key. The intro appears to be in G#, but I believe the song is in G. I'm not too strong on the ins and outs of theory. Is this intro really a half-step up, or am I wrong about the key of the song?

Thanks all, and happy new year.

Your confusion is warranted.

The song is in the key of G.

But there is that old two-page thread where it is discussed and tabbed in G#. Nobody flagged it as being incorrect for some reason, and I'm not aware of an alternate recording that it might be referring to. So... I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something?

If not, just use the tab in the other thread, but play everything one fret lower than listed.

Thanks Tucker! Like I said, I'm not too strong on theory, so I thought there might be some secret reason why it was a half-step up.
