My new Emmons SKH Legrande is an amazing guitar, but I am having one small issue.
When I engage the C to B lower (RKR) on my C6 neck, the lowest it will bring the string down to is around 30 cents sharp of where it needs to be to sound in tune.
When the lowering pull rod moves the lower finger to a certain point, the control finger stops rolling and the string stops lowering in pitch. If I continue to press the lever further, the lower finger keeps moving more, but the control finger no longer rolls any more, and the string remains sharp despite the additional movement.
Is what I'm describing normal? Is there a simple solution, or is there a mechanical issue with the changer? Any advice is appreciated.
Also, I'm a new player so apologies if I've gotten any of the terminology wrong here. Here's the chart I was referring to when writing this post: http://steelguitar.com/maps/changer.html
Thanks in advance! |

2 possibilities- the split screw in the back of the changer needs to be backed out or the lowering rod needs to be moved towards the floor in the changer as if it is too close to the scissor pivot point it may start to raise as it is lowering. |

Hi Greg, A simple thing to look at is, is the split tuning screw for that string tuned in? They are the row of screws at the end of the changer. This may not be your problem but could cause the issue you're describing. |

You can see the screw will limit the lowering of the changer finger. Back it out (ccw) to allow further lowering. |

Thanks so much everyone! I'm glad to hear this is an easy fix. Will try this out later today. |
