After a few months of work the old eight string push poll that I purchased earlier in the year is up and running. I love the tone of the original pick up for the classic cutting Emmons country tone, with its string upper mid spike.

But I don’t think that’s ultimately what I want out of this guitar. I have a couple of George L 10.5s and would like a smoother, rounder tone than the Emmons pickup, and without the spike (3.5-5k I guess?).

Is that spike inherent to the sound of the guitar, or is it the lbright single coil causing that?

Thx
