Sonny is one of the best. When I listen to a CD and am impressed by the steel playing, I look at the credits and usually it's Sonny Garrish. He has backed up Gene Watson on a lot of his recordings.

Sonny is one of my all-time favorites. He was a big influence on me. I never get tired of hearing him play.

Anyone know how to find PO Boys band ? Everything I put in doesn't give me a result for that band . Bill Anderson has some but not just the band. Got any ideas where I might download. Thanks

His playing on Red Steagall's records is absolutely stellar. But my favorite is the enormously underrated 1990 debut album by Scott McQuaig. Just listen to "Take the smile form your face".

Here he is playing on Mark Heard's 1981 outing, Stop the Dominoes, and the song, "To Hear Your Voice:"

Sonny's 2014 induction into the HOF was very well deserved.

On a somewhat related topic, the lead player that is playing alongside Sonny in Roseanne Cash's "My Baby Thinks He's a Train" is Steuart Smith - Steuart went on to tour with The Eagles (in lieu of Don Felder).
