This is a 14 minute tutorial on the chords and progressions of Bye Bye Blackbird on the Eharp tuning. I hope to make these a bit more professional in the future with graphics showing the grips more easily, but for now, it is what it is. Hope this helps some see the chord possibilities in the tuning. Excuse the playing

Very interesting. I think that vid shows how different eharp is from standard lap steel. The way the tuning allows you to create to play so many four note chords in each position is pretty amazing.
Thanks! |

Thanks Travis. I plan on making these better with some graphics and editing so subscribe if you want to the youtube channel. I'm even thinking of running a weekly Eharp Zoom teach in if there is interest. |

I did subscribe to your channel, and while the weekly zoom is generous of you to offer, it would be a challenge for me to participate and I have not yet strung up an eharp anyway.
I'm thinking after Xmas I might buy one of the Hudson Practice 10 Strings and string it up as an eharp, or I might buy one of the cheap SX 8 strings and make do. I'm going thru a divorce right now so funds are short, so we'll see.
Thanks again |

You can actually do a lot on just the top six strings of the eharp tuning and much of the original literature was designed assuming the student will have a six string.
I have a triple neck 8-8-10 Remington and I've thought of stringing it up 6-8-10 and put different string versions of the tuning so people can start with what they have. |

I may end getting a six string guitar for my eharp, but I only have one lap steel currently and I want to keep it at B11 for now. Since I'm getting another guitar, I figure I want to get an 8 or 10 string to get closer to an actual eharp.
I'd love to get an actual Epiphone, but it's not in the cards in the near future. |

Interestingly, i have been talking to my guitar tech, who also builds guitars, about making a modern reproduction of the epiphone eharp . He is interested especially after working on mine |
