Some of you will know that here at Smart Choice Music in the UK We have stored Al Perkins' touring equipment for his UK and European tours. This was to save Al from bringing over heavy equipment for his frequent touring commitments over the last two decades.

As Al is pretty much putting his touring days behind him now, he has asked us to sell off some items of equipment that have been in storage here for a few years and are no longer required.

We have a ZB Custom 11 String Pedal Steel along with a hand-built Risson amp, plus a Gibson U.S. Hound Dog Dobro and a B-Bender American Telecaster available.

If anyone is interested please PM me for details, or you can find all the photos and information on eBay.

Ian, can you tell us what the metal badge on the apron says? Is that “Eric Slowhand?”

The nameplate is for someone called Eric Snowball. A new name to me but I'm sure not to the esteemed members of this forum Smile

Hi Brendan. Yes, you are correct about the double frame. This is what Al told me about his preference when I asked him last night:

Quote:
the dbl carriage creates a much better position for the knee lever’s operation as does the cushioned pad for your forearms.

Another minor, but handy aspect is having an “accessory” deck for picks, bar & tuning wrench, etc.

Two other well known players that love the single neck & dual carriage design are Lloyd Green and Tom Brumley
