| I just learned Eddie Trent from Kingsport, TN passed away yesterday apparently of a heart attack. He was an excellent player and toured with Ava Barber at one time. He also did a lot of recording studio work. Condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace. |

I am so sorry to hear of Eddie's passing...he was a good friend and a great steel player. He will be missed.

| I was shocked to hear that Eddie had passed away. I talked to him on the on the phone a couple of months ago and we had a good time. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. |

| Yes Lyle. His name; along with Mike Douchette was seen on the back of a lot of Gospel albums and cds. They contributed so much to the music of steel guitar. |

Eddie was a good friend and an excellent player. He was a hoot to be around... never a dull moment and he always a story to tell. He loved to talk about music and steel. If you were a steel player, Eddie considered you a "brother". I miss him, not just for his playing but for his friendship also.
