I bought this in the early 2000s. Any way to know if this pick up is original? I think the pots and knobs do not look right but not too sure. I have seen the SD antiquity re-makes of Champion PUs and cannot discern the difference. Thanks for any info on the pickups, knobs and pots. Aloha!

Here is what https://www.guitarinsite.nl/serienummers-potmeter_eng.php says about the pot.

If I remember correctly Champion laps have the leads coming out of the top of the flatwork and Tele pickups have the leads entering at the bottom.

I'm no ex-spurt, but it looks just like the one I used to have, which was all original. No shortage of treble with those things; they cut through the mix. Fender built a boatload of 'em.

That baby looks good to me. Late 53 pots, I'd call it a '54 model year.
