Does anyone have a couple or more of these they can part with? Michael Yahl is out of stock with no schedule to restock. I hope he doesn't mind that I purloined his picture.

My steel doesn’t have these. What are they supposed to do?

Return pedal cross-shaft to "neutral" position when you remove your foot. I guess some designs rely on the changer springs and maybe string tension to drive the pedal back up? I've also seen coil-springs rigged to the pedal shaft and anchored to the cabinet or side-rail to do this.

Thank you Gary.. Would it be fair to say most modern pedal steels do not require these!

Brian: I'll let a better expert than I answer that. My Clark Custom does not appear to have these. I recently rebuilt a ShoBud Crossover with rack and barrel action. It had the aforementioned coil spring on each rack to restore the rack to position. I also had a Miller Custom with pull-release changer. It was equipped with springs similar to the ones I need for the MSA. None of these would be what I call a "modern" PSG.

Paul, the springs arrived today. Thanks again. I've donated $5 to the Forum in your honor.
