Nice guitar! Where can you find another? Here, on the steel guitar forum, where 2-3 string masters often sell every month. Just do a search. You’ll also see the prices they sell for.

Two d-8 50s-60s Fenders Stringmaster have sold on here in the past month, each went for, in the neighborhood of, $1300. These instruments aren’t at all uncommon and I’m afraid your price is at a place where I’d beg the question: “are you wanting to sell it, or keep it?”

I've bought and sold three Stringmasters in the past year, all in fantastic shape. As Chris suggests, the average prices were in the neighborhood of $1,100-$1,500 range.

Maybe try Reverb. There's plenty of over-priced
steels to muddle in with Very Happy

Guys, if he's asking too much he can certainly figure that out without being antagonized.

His ad is very well written but the price is unrealistic, in my opinion. I’m not being antagonistic, but maybe helpful in getting this nice steel sold.

his profile says he has been here since 2012. where did the "just joining" come from?

you can ask whatever you want. all you need is one guy to pay it.

Hey, Bill! You’re probably right that it never hurts to be nicer. But I’m not sure this rises to the level of what I’d call antagonism. We’re all big boys and it doesn’t take much research to get a realistic ballpark price on a Stringmaster. If you put up a guitar for an outrageous price, perhaps you risk a little pushback. I’m juz sayin’.

Re: joining. You’re right... I saw 23 posts and assumed, wrongly perhaps, he only joined to sell. I’ve amended my post. Thanks, brother.

He does have a lovely music room! (See? I can play nice! 🤣).

Meaning this purely in a constructive way...you might want closer, detailed pictures to really highlight its condition (particularly if its pricing is informed by a much better than average condition). Good luck with your sale!

Geezz....I contacted member about this stringmaster and asked for additional pictures and to answer several questions. He never got back to me other than resending the same info he originally posted and asking me how much would I pay for it..... I waited several days he never got back to me then today I see he has posted it for sale on ebay. I swear I took a bath and do not smell bad wonder if I asked the wrong question??
