I need 8 long Emmons pedal rods, 3/16" diameter x 10/32" threads, approximately 25-5/8" long, with the hooks turned down to approximately 1/8" in diameter.

George,

I don't have any 1" over pedal rods but I do have hex ends that are 1" over, which would probably accomplish the same outcome for less money.

Lynn, I have had the standoffs before and I have sources for the male/female type. They work fine, but I don't care for the looks of them stacked on top of the connectors. I have Zum rods that are 2 inches longer that I can cut off and re-thread, but they are pitted and corroded and the chrome plating has flaked off in some places. Also, they are 3/16" hooks, which is a little tight fitting on my Emmons. They are what I'm using now, but they're a bit too long. I'll just cut them down and and re-thread them if I can't find the right ones at a decent price.

Thanks for responding. The pickup I got from you is working out great.

George,

Just to clarify, these would be one piece hex connectors, just like yours only 1" longer.

Lynn, the ones that came with the guitar are 1-3/4" long. Is the length of the ones you have 2-3/4"? Are they steel or aluminum, painted, oxide, polished, or mill finish? Can you post a photo?

Thanks,

George

I have a set on my S10 Emmons PP. I’m not at home right now but I believe they are aluminum. They are either anodonized or painted black & the numbers are stamped on. They look very much like they belong there. I encourage you to do it this way because if you’ll keep your old ones you can always return it to standard height. You will need a couple of spacers between the front legs gland collars & the pedal bar. Lynn probably has them also.

George,

I actually have a variety of these connectors. Some are steel but most are aluminum. I don't think I have any that are anodized black but if I do, they would be priced a bit higher. Do you have a preference for material or type of finish? I'll look and see what I can do.

Lynn, the ones I have are black, aluminum, I believe. I would prefer bare aluminum. I have a polishing machine so I can buff them to match the pedal bar.

James, I know about Michael being able to make the rods. I'm not sure his have the hook ends turned down to 1/8" or not. If not, he could turn them down before bending the hook. Buying all new custom rods would be the most expensive way to go.

Danny,I know how to measure and cut the spacers. I make them out of 3/4" x 1/16" aluminum tubing and buff them. Thanks for your input and recommendation I go this route.

George,

I have 8 bare aluminum 1" over hex connectors. I can stamp numbers in them 1 - 8 if you'd like.

George, my S10 Zum came with those leg spacers from Bruce. He drilled and tapped a little hole and put a short set screw on them. It's kinda handy in that it holds them in place. On my S10 Emmons they are just loose on the legs and it really isn't a problem. I've made the spacers for some guitars where I had to play with the length just a bit to get the extenders in the middle of their adjustment range. Sounds like you and Lynn have got it covered.

Danny, I've used the spacers for many years and see no reason for set screws. The aluminum tubing just slides down against the leg tighting nut on it's on, by gravity, when the guitar is in the case upside down for assembly. If I don't want them to move. I would just wrap a little tape around the leg, or a piece of heat shrink tubing for the spacer to slide over.
