I wasn’t sure which section to put this in but I wanted to share my homemade 15” speaker cabs which I recently completed. I made them to match the seat I made a while ago. They each have a 4 ohm JBL E130. They are closed back, 3/4” plywood with rock wool inside. I made them for use with a Walker Stereo Steel. Thanks for checking out my post.

Great work Nicolas, they look great, love that snake skin. I like closed back, it keeps the punch nice and tight and also keeps the sound focused and stage volume down, The other guys don’t get buckshot from the rear, especially the drummer!

I suspect the D130 is a good candidate for closed back. They produce a lot of volume per watt which means you won't necessarily miss what's coming off the back of the cone.
Great job Nick.

Excellent looking cabinets and seat. Any idea of the weight per cab? Evans seems to have lightweight cabs that I suspect are made from half inch materials. Of course the neodymium speaker helps too. Those JBLS are more substantial in weight.

I haven’t weighed them but they are fairly heavy. I’ll mostly be using them at home.

Lucky enough to not pack them around. I built several speaker cabs and rack cases out of 3/4 years ago and did use them a bunch. Now I seek the lighter weight stuff. I was shocked at the lightweight of 2 recent Evans cabs yet they sound fantastic. Now I'm looking at all my old big heavy gear and questioning my motives. My 2 Fender Twins stay home.

Great looking set of cabinets.
I went light on a speaker cabinet, Used 1/2" Birch plywood for cabinet, Put a Eminence EPS-15C speaker in it. Trunk liner fabric covered. Weighs 22 lb. With an 7 lb. in gig case, Evans AH200 Amp. that hooks on my seat. 29lb. for the set. My Nashville 400 is now housebound.
