Great shot of Jerry on steel. I notice he usually played a ZB back in the day but that looks like an Emmons. Maybe that was Buddy Cage's Emmons and Jerry was sitting in? Looks like a Sho-Bud amp behind him. Cool picture!!! Inspires me to get off my arse and join a band when this "Jam-Demic" is all over LOL

I’m wondering if Jerry was a Self taught Pedal Steeler?
Those are the best stories!
I love hearing the stories of the Self Taught player of any instrument actually...

There's a couple pages in Jerry on Jerry another of first 5 bio books above on how Jerry had his first pedal steel shipped from Colorado ot NorCal and how he started picking but it's been awhile and I can't remember which books.

Another way we can say he was NOT sitting-in on Buddy's rig: Cage ranted in various interviews about how there's no need to use a "steel amp" (like that Sho-Bud). He thought it was just dumb that other steel players felt it was necessary to get a good tone. He was a Fender guy, as far as I know.
