I acquired an Infinity guitar a couple of months ago and I emailed Frank to ask about raising it. We ended up speaking on the phone and I told him about my struggles with the short pedals most steels have. Frank ended up making me a REALLY nice polished aluminum lift kit. Today, I received pedals that are an inch longer for additional foot room. They are absolutely awesome. He had me call him and he walked me through the process to swap the pedals. What a super helpful guy and an awesome machinist. He made me a truly customized guitar that fits me really well. Here's a picture of the pedals he machined for me.

I have a U12 from him that is likely the last PSG I'll ever buy. It has great tone, easy to play, little to no hysteresis.
After my purchase I contacted him about getting an extra pedal. He sent it free of charge. Same with a colored fret board.
I had sold Frank quite a few "Tonealigner" pickups back in the day and got to know him well over the phone. When I heard he was making a PSG I called him up and asked if he made a universal 12. Frank said I've got one ready to go. I did not hesitate fortunately because soon after he stopped taking orders. Since then I've met Frank face to face at the Texas steel guitar show. Frank is a great guy and a great player BTW.

I asked Frank when I talked to him yesterday who made these pedals and he told me he made them himself. That's pretty amazing because it was less than a week ago that we talked about it and I know there was a considerable amount of work put into doing these. I agree about the playability of the Infinity guitar. The guitar I have is a 2014 basically. It was ordered by a man named Ted over in Ireland and he picked it up from Frank at the 2014 Dallas show. Frank said my SD 10 was one of only a few single necks he ever made. Do you recall what year yours is?

Nice, can you tell us if the extra added length made your Infinity pedal easier?

Yes Johnnie, it sure did. I also have a set of LeGrande pedals that a machinist modified for me. I keep them around so when I have an Emmons around I use them. They make a LeGrande amazingly easy to push. Bill Rudolph put longer pedals on my Williams and it's awesome. I would say my Williams is a keeper.

I've never heard him play but I can attest to his workmanship and his willingness to help a guy out. First class guy for sure.

I'm curious.. What's the extra linkage for on the infinity pedals?

Also, how long are the pedals now (from the rod to the end of the pedal)? I'm curious because I think we have similar height. I'm not sure how much longer to lengthen my pedals...

Dave, the pedal rod ends are a hexagon shaped pieces of polished aluminum with a hole in them. They slide over the dowel pin you see sticking out, then that linkage swings down and holds the rod in place so it can't slip off the pin. Its similar to an Emmons but if I recall correctly, Emmons are round. If you can't picture it in your head let me know and I will take a couple of pictures of it when I get home to show you. That guitar is actually set up in my room right now so it would just take a minute to photo and send it to you.

As for the length, from the dowel for the pedal rod connector to the end of the pedal is now 4 inches long. Mullen is the only company I know of that has pedals that long. I bought a set of Emmons pedals from Jim Palenscar some time in the past. (Another guy with a wealth of knowledge willing to help when he can) I sent those to a machinist who made them longer for me at what I thought was a reasonable cost. I keep those around because it seems like I am forever buying an Emmons guitar to play for while then I sell them. Anyway, the pedals being longer give more foot room and allows you to get the ball of your foot up on the pedals without hitting the pedal rods. They actually make a world of difference and to me, they don't change much mechanically except to make the pull somewhat easier.

Hello Ivor. I believe I own an Infinity SD 10 that you once owned. Also, I know of several people looking for D10's as well.

This steel I built has adjustable pedal pads an three holes on side of pedal to pick the place for the connector ball most comfortable.

We don’t all have the same size feet what if. A size 15 shoe was all you could get. These pedal steels are not one size fits all.

I've actually emailed you several times trying to get information on those and the knee flags. You've never responded. I wanted to see if you sell those.
