I always assumed that a D10 body is four pieces, with a glue joint between the two necks. But yesterday I watched a video of a prominent builder who mentioned the body being only three pieces.

Does anyone know what the standard is, or if there is one? I could see the top deck being a single piece planed at an offset.

Craig,

Do you mean the necks or the top part of a D10 body? I'm referring to the latter.

There is no glue joint. It’s all one piece. Body and neck.

The vast majority of D10s are essentially two half bodies joined in the middle, each with a single apron. Most are glued together in the middle, some like the push pull are screwed together in the lap joint. Most look something like this.

A Williams is one whole piece of wood body and neck.
