I picked up my first steel this past weekend. MSA S10 Classic. E9 with an Emmons setup. I've looked at other MSA serials on the forum and best I can tell, this guitar (1C3592) was made sometime in the late 70s.

I'd like to give a big 'THANK YOU' to Jerry Roller who set this guitar up and even wrote out copedant details on the 4th and 5th pedals for a newbie. Jerry, if you are out there, the guitar sounds great.

Looking forward to getting to know this community!

Hello Trevor, welcome to the madness! My first steel was an MSA Semi-Classic with 3 pedals, one knee that lowered the Es. It was rock solid and a great starter guitar. Good luck. Find a teacher if you can. Feel free to ask questions here. The Forum brothers and sisters are always willing to help.

Welcome welcome welcome. Those old horns were built like a tank. It will give you many years of frustration er I mean enjoyment! Haha. This site is a vast wealth of information. A great brotherhood & sisterhood exits here.

I’m also a newbie... and I can honestly say that although there were many beautiful pedal steels that crossed my path during my search for “The One” I made a vow to myself to not rush the process, but to take my time until I came across just the right Steel, I was tempted many times to go with this one or that one...but something always would stop me, I even went so far as to pray about it...asking the Lord to help me to know when I had found just the right one...finally it happened and it was 👌 perfect! Everything was Perfect! The Steel, the price, and the people I purchased it from, said they would even bring it to me! All the way from Michigan to Mentor Ohio ( Mentor is 25 miles going east out of Cleveland towards Erie PA) that’s when I knew, the waiting, and taking my time, even praying about it each nite before bed asking the Lord to help me find just the right offer and to let me know in my heart when I had found it...the picture I’m posting is my Pedal Steel! It’s a 1995 Pre RP Mullen D-10 8X5 in Mint Condition, The Family I purchased it from said it belonged to the Ladies father and he was a real Pro, playing it often for family & Friends in His home Music Room, they also shared with me a little of His story that he had ordered it and had purchased it brand Spankin New and once it arrived he set it up in his music room and there it stayed until the day he passed away which was this past April of this year 2020. In closing, I just want to say how much I appreciate everyone on this Forum, youve always been very helpful
patient, and kind to me, I really appreciate the commeraudery I have found here...It’s like having another family! I can say with all my heart, that I really do Love & appreciate each and every one of you with a Brotherly Love, Your a Great Group of fellas that gives it to us straight and true whenever we ask for advice or help with something we don’t get or understand, and for that I say Thank-You...
Respectfully,
Jeffery S Mercer
