Changing Humbucker pu for a single coil on an Encore

Iâ€™ve got a couple of Emmons puâ€™s from a Legrande III I used to own and was wondering how it would alter the tone. Anyone tried the Encore with this pu?

I just changed a humbucker for a single coil on my Emmons pp. To my ears, it's a clearer and cleaner sound, especially on strings 5 and 6. I think it will be a good move to change the pickup, but I'm biased. I just like single coils and pot pedals.
