I'm trying to find suitable pedal steel picks for a 10-year old boy with quite slender fingers.

There are plenty of ads for kids' banjo picks - could these be bent to the right shape?

banjo.com has mini Dunlop nickel fingerpicks @ $3.99 a pair.

I imagine the Dunlop mini finger picks are fine. I see them here at amazon.uk - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dunlop-36R-020-Nickel-Silver-Fingerpicks/dp/B0049EML4Q?th=1

My daughter had and still has pretty thin fingers. When was young, I got her these Pro Pik small fingerpicks for finger picking guitar - https://pro-pik.com/collections/fingerpicks/products/propik%C2%AE-small-medium-fingerpicks?variant=32415798231180

They're probably not as easy to find as the Dunlops, but I think they're very good - I know that became her preference. She especially liked the fingertone version - https://pro-pik.com/collections/fingerpicks/products/propik%C2%AE-fingertone%C2%AE-fingerpicks?variant=32416036913292 - but I'm not sure they have them in small. I think she made do with a medium.

Pro Pik also makes a small thumb pick. Not my cup of tea, strictly Fred Kelly Regular and Slick Picks for me. These come only in size Large and Regular, but the size-Regulars are about the tightest-fitting thumb picks I've ever used, so a Regular Slick pick might work. It isn't real loose on my ring finger, which I measured around 5.5cm on this thumbruler for Geipel metal thumb picks - https://banjobridge.com/pdf/thumbruler.pdf - you could measure his thumb and see if it might work. Fred Kelly thumb picks are real tight on my thumb near my first knuckle, which measures 7-7.5cm.

I was taken to those Geipel picks and thumb ruler by this thread on banjohangout - https://www.banjohangout.org/archive/329741 - and it appears that everything size 5.5 and smaller is out of stock. So the Fred Kelly might be a reasonable alternative. The reason I suggest the Slick Pick is that the blade is short. I'd get the lightest gauge possible.

Many apologies that I didn't return sooner to look at your kind responses.

I shall investigate them all.
