Although not directly related to steel guitar, I found the following instruction about the reasons and methods for using diminished chords very fascinating.

Hopefully, someone else will find it helpful too! Very Happy

Some people know how to teach. But it's surprisingly rare.

This guy knows how to present material.

I always click on the CC (closed caption) icon on instructional videos. It makes it easier to follow along, especially when English is not the first language of the presenter.

Using diminished phrases, scales modes etc, even in the most simplistic form, opens up the fretboard in unimaginable ways.

It's funny, 40 years ago my mentor(Freddy Warner) showed me I could play a diminished 1 fret below or 2 frets above the chord I wanted( 1-4) and slide in to it. And know I know why !

Thanks for posting this! I've never properly understood how diminished chords work but this explains it quite nicely and concisely
