A few months ago I bought Tim Lerch's Truefire course on solo jazz guitar. I didn't really look at it til this weekend. Tim is a fantastic jazz guitarist and teacher. It's been years since I practiced this kind of stuff on standard guitar so I thought I'd see what might adapt to lap steel and my rusty chops. Here are some of Tim's improvised II-V-I ideas I've transcribed for C6th lap steel (often leaving bass and other notes out or extending some notes). These are the kinds of sounds you hear in Joe Pass's playing as well as many others. Lots of ideas here to adapt and plug into to your own stuff.

My apologies, Francisco. I accidentally wrote the tuning backwards! I fixed the images. It's standard C6th

Thanks for this, excellent stuff!
Measure 9 I trouble with behind te bar bends on lower strings and last measure, that combo of open and closed strings too. Andy's transcriptions are always challenging _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG
