I think this song has been posted here before, but I heard it again recently and continue to be amazed. If you're like me, you're skeptical about getting sexy sounds out of pedal steel. This guy did it:

Pulling off the song in an ear-tickling style of R&B is also impressive. The music video is fun and campy too. |

Are you sure it's a pedal steel guitar? To me it sounds like a slide guitar. Anyway, I totaly agree with your comments about the song, the clip etc... |

Yeah, the bends are crisp and perfectly in tune. He's working pedals. The tone sounds very pedal steel too. I also saw another YouTube video of a live performance with the same person with pedal steel. |

Very nice. The bone dry production works to keep it intimate and gives the steel room to blossom and be that sexy glue behind it all. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ggefell/ |

pedal steel player’s name is Pistol. He’s from Athens. He’s played on both of my records, and he’s just a genius. It’s an insane instrument. If you watch him play it, it makes no sense. |

Thanks - that confirms it's Matt "Pistol" Stoessel on the album. |

I wonder what kind of boots he plays in? I hear it's all about footwear now. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Donner, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

P.S. I love the song. The steel is flexing its country muscles in a more general genre. I get to do that in my band and I love it. This thing ain't dead. _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!
