Over the course of the last few years, I have purchased a few basketcase Gibson carcasses and restored them to playing condition. I have a quantity of extra fasteners that may not be easy to find at the corner hardware store:
These steel wood screw threaded studs were used for attaching the Plexiglas pickup/bridge cover and headstock cover (if applicable) on some Centurys, Ultratones, and Royaltones.
These screw nails were used on second generation Centurys and Ultratones for attaching the Plexiglas fretboards and doubled as position markers at the twelfth fret.
They may not be exact replacements, but they worked fine for me. I purchased them from McMaster-Carr in 100-lots, which are more than I likely will use in a lifetime. If anyone needs a couple or so for a project, shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send 'em gratis. |
